About Stanley Sockets and Ratchets Stanley sockets feature the proprietary Max-Drive design, a unique radius corner design which provides 15 percent more torque, making it easy to tighten fasteners and simplifies the turning of rounded corners. This technology helps reduce fastener wear without contact on the outer 5 percent of the fastener, so fasteners last longer. This helps reduce slipping on frozen or rusted fasteners. Stanley sockets are manufactured worldwide with high alloy steel and heat treated for performance. Stanley ratchets and accessories are designed to meet or exceed ANSI specifications. All are forged from high-quality steel and finished in high-polish chrome. Selected Stanley high-torque ratchets have a Quick Release mechanism for one-handed use. Sockets and extensions remain locked onto the drive until disengaged with an easy-to-reach, low-profile quick-release button. Stanley Pear Head Ratchets have a slim profile and a small 7-degree arc-swing for accessing hard to reach fasteners. Product Accessories

Customer Reviews Diggertoo Said: DIY Dream Come True ( Nov. 23rd 2009 )I purchased a set for around the house and DIY mechanic work. I did have to clean off the set before using it (black oily substance on everything), and the pieces of the set are somewhat difficult to take out and put in. BUT, the case keeps everything securely in one place and is easy to carry around. The 69 piece set has it all for around the house and garage needs. It's handy to take along on road trips too. It's a great deal on a well packaged socket set. Can't go wrong with this one.The Kapt`n Said: great ratchet set ( Nov. 6th 2009 )My friends are jealous by my ratchet set. They can't steal my tools because they are black. These tools look and feel quality. The case isn't the best, but I don't have any real major problems with it. It can be difficult to get the pieces in and out of the toolbox depending on the part. I like the fact that it comes with an extending rod. That is the thing that the smaller sets needed. This was a great value.R. Bond Said: Great, solid, STRONG set ( Oct. 9th 2009 )I used this to replace the 4 struts/shocks on my car today. I got these to replace some B&D sockets that BROKE when I was using them on some stubborn, rusted nuts and bolts. These sockets took a SERIOUS beating today and a CRAZY amount of torque without showing any signs of wear. They got through every nut and bolt I threw at them. I was really impressed. You can tell by handling them that they are made well and of good quality. I added about 1.5 feet of breaker bar to the ratched and put all my 200 lbs into it. It took the strain without failing. I kept looking at it and saying "wow." I found it very helpful that the numbers are laser etched on each socket. It makes it easy to tell which one you are using and which one you need. Would definitely recommend and buy again. Can't wait to use them again. Plus the lifetime warranty means you can beat the heck out of them!James R. Cuppy Said: Stanley socket set ( Sep. 13th 2009 )Great set for DIYers, especially for those old folks like me, that have a difficult time seeing the sizes( even with glasses.)Rocklin Rollings Said: So far, NOT Impressed! ( Sep. 3rd 2009 )Laser Etched? Negative, or, at least, poor quality. It's closer to silk screening. I can feel that the numbers are raised like they've been painted on. The etching and, therefore, being easy to identify is one of the two main reasons I chose this set. If it rubs off reason #1 for buying is gone. The second reason I chose this set and I quote, "Max-Drive design, a unique radius corner design which provides 15 percent more torque..." The only difference I can see is they've, in essence, "drilled" the points a little bigger, which if I'm thinking correctly will put more force in the right places. But it doesn't seem to be very substantial. I think I may send it back and get a Metrinch set instead. To be fair, I will test out the set against a regular socket set using a torque wrench and if it does provide significantly more torque without slipping, rounding the nut, etc. I will come back and change my review. But, as it stands, for the reasons expressed and what the other reviewers have said about quality I wouldn't buy it again.« Back |
